Regular Programs
    The Allied Wellness Center provides a number of programs and services focused on outreach and prevention education. Read below for more information about our programs and events. Please also view the Center's 2008 Monthly Calendar for the detailed schedule of the events and programs in 2008.

  • AIDS Network
    Rapid HIV testing, prevention, and education available every Thursday from 1 to 4 pm.
  • Allied Area Partnership Toward Recovery
    A Substance abuse support program for residents in the Allied neighborhood who want to make a change in their lives One-on-one counseling available during the week. Call 274-7006 for an appointment. Every Friday night (except the fourth Friday of the month) at 6 p.m join us for 'Stories of Change' from people who used to get high. Come be encouraged in your recovery journey. Supper provided. (Download the brochure)
  • Book Club
    Reading selected books together, we meet to discuss every Monday at 12 noon at the boys and Girls Club. Call to sign up.
  • Community Parish Nurse
    Available for health assessment, advocacy, education, referral, and one?on?one counseling. Also coordinates wellness programs at the center. Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8 am to noon.
  • The Doctor Is In
    Free physician consultations. Available the first Wednesday, second Friday, and fourth Tuesday of every month from 10 am to noon.
  • Health Promotion Activities
    Various health promotion programs are offered Allied United for Health student group. Topics and dates change; watch for flyers.
  • Prayer Meeting and Bible Study
    Every Monday from 6 to 7 pm. Sponsored by the African American Council of Churches.
  • Welcomers Club
    Be a friendly contact for new residents moving into the neighborhood. Socialize and meet people! Call to sign up.
